Application Customisation

Configure application questions, restrictions, ping roles, role actions, icons, and panel messages.

Customise a form after its basic name and log channel work. Add only the restrictions and actions your server actually needs, then test them with a non-staff account.

Add questions

Every form needs at least one question.

  • Simple asks for a text answer of up to 1,024 characters.
  • MCQ shows 2 to 25 unique choices. Set how many choices the member must and may select.
  • File asks for 1 to 10 uploads and can accept all files, images, videos, or PDFs.

Every question can be required or optional. Optional questions include a Skip button.

Use Rearrange in Discord and enter every question number in the new order, such as 3,1,2. Use the trash action to remove questions.

Control who can apply

Allowed Roles requires the member to have at least one selected role.

Blocked Roles prevents members with any selected role from applying.

Allowed Channels lets members start the form only in selected channels.

Blocked Channels prevents the form from starting in selected channels.

A role or channel cannot be both allowed and blocked. Leave an allowed list empty when everyone should be allowed unless blocked separately.

Ping reviewers

Use Response Settings → Ping Roles to mention up to 25 roles when Discortics posts a completed response in the log channel.

Choose only roles responsible for reviewing that form. Too many pings make new applications easier to miss.

Send a completion message

Add a completion message of up to 2,000 characters under Response Settings. It is sent immediately after submission.

Include the expected review time, next step, or staff contact. Leave it empty to use Discortics' standard confirmation.

Add accepted and denied role actions

Configure one optional role action for each decision:

  • Add a Trial Moderator role after acceptance.
  • Remove an Applicant role after either decision.
  • Add a Reapply Later role after denial.

Discortics needs Manage Roles, and its highest role must be above the selected role. Managed integration roles cannot be used.

Shuffle questions

Shuffle changes the question order for each applicant. It does not shuffle MCQ choices.

Enable it when question order should vary. Keep it disabled when one question depends on an earlier answer.

Add a form icon

In /application settings, select Icon, then send a Unicode emoji or a custom emoji from the same server within 60 seconds. The icon helps members identify the form in menus and application panels.

Build an application panel message

The Dashboard includes a Components V2 message builder for application panels. A panel can combine text, sections, images, buttons, and form actions in one message.

Create an application panelConnect each application action to the form it should open.
  1. Open Dashboard → Applications → Panels.
  2. Select New Panel.
  3. Add text, sections, images, or other message blocks.
  4. Add an application button or select action and choose its form.
  5. Set which users, roles, or everyone may be mentioned.
  6. Choose up to 10 destination channels.
  7. Save, then send the panel.

The application panel message builder

The builder checks Discord component and text limits before sending. Closed forms can remain connected to a saved panel, but members cannot start them until the form is opened again.

Test the customisation

Use a non-administrator test account and confirm that:

  • The form appears only for the intended roles and channels.
  • Required and optional questions behave correctly.
  • The log channel receives the response and pings the right reviewers.
  • The completion message is clear.
  • Accepting or denying applies the expected role action.
