Mention Protection blocks messages that ping too many users, roles, or channels. Use Simple mode for one limit. Use Advanced mode when each mention type needs a different limit.
Set up mention protection
Configure from the DashboardSet limits above the largest legitimate message in your server.
- Open Dashboard → Moderator → Autopilot → Anti-Mention.
- Enable the protection.
- Choose Simple or Advanced mode.
- Set the limits and
@everyonebehavior. - Add required exceptions.
- Save and test safely.

Mention protection limits in the Dashboard
Simple mode
Simple mode uses Discord AutoMod. Set one Mention Limit from 1 to 50. A message is blocked when it exceeds Discord's mention threshold.
Mention raid protection is enabled by default.
Advanced mode
Set separate values from 1 to 50 for:
- Total Mention Limit: combined user, role, and channel mentions.
- User Mention Limit: unique mentioned users.
- Role Mention Limit: unique mentioned roles.
- Channel Mention Limit: unique mentioned channels.
- Everyone Allowed: whether
@everyoneand@heremay pass.
Members with Discord's Mention Everyone permission are not blocked by the @everyone check.
Exceptions
Ignored users, roles, and channels bypass Mention Protection. In Advanced mode, ignored mentioned users and roles are also removed from their matching counts.
Pick safe limits
Review normal announcement and staff messages before choosing a value. A total limit of 5 may be suitable for a chat server but too low for an event channel that regularly mentions several roles.
Test just above and below the selected limit with a non-administrator account.
Punishments
Open Punishments to configure Warn, Mute, Timeout, Kick, or Ban. Keep Warn enabled when another action uses a threshold.
